About Spelling Practice
Spelling Practice helps children in grades 1 to 5 get ready for the weekly spelling test, at home or in class. Free, with no account.
Every mode works the same way: the app says the word in a sentence, the child spells the whole word from memory, then checks it against the correct spelling and fixes it. Built on practice testing, one of the best-supported ways to learn spelling words.
The spoken words are recordings of a computer-generated voice, made ahead of time. No AI runs while the app is in use.
Use the list your school sent home. Spelling patterns ranked from easiest to hardest are coming soon, once our teachers have reviewed every word. Lists you type are saved on this device.
