About Writing Prompt & Rubric Builder

Writing Prompt & Rubric Builder is a free tool from Model Teaching that puts two professional development courses to work: Building Effective Writing Prompts and Measuring Growth in Writing Using Rubrics.

You bring a rough idea and a grade. The app writes one prompt in the course's three moves, builds the “Be sure to…” checklist your students will see, and writes a rubric in which every row scores something the prompt actually asked for. Change the checklist and the prompt's closing and the rubric follow it.
